How Much!!??

It is a common scenario: You got some ‘awesome’ ink while visiting Cancun on spring break. But that was ten years ago. This is now. You have a serious job, a family, and your ‘awesome’ tattoo no longer fits your lifestyle. You’ve heard a lot about different types of tattoo removal methods, but there seem to be ups and downs to each of them. As you deliberate whether you can commit yourself to the time and/or tattoo removal cost, you grow to resent it more every day. Now it’s time to make some decisions. But before you can decide, you need the facts.

Laser Tattoo Removal Cost

Overall this is a very effective method of tattoo removal. During treatment the lasers will break up the unwanted ink into tiny particles which will be slowly absorbed by the skin. As the particles are broken down, they lose some of the pigment from the ink. This is why you need multiple tattoo removal sessions, it doesn’t rid your skin of all the ink in one shot.

Cost Of Laser Tattoo Removal
The average cost for this method ranges from about $200 to $500 per session. Keep in mind though that the price could be increased significantly if you have a large or brightly colored tattoo (some pigments are more difficult to remove). Just to give you an idea of how long the process takes, the average tattoo removal ranges from three to nine sessions. With some simple math you can see how quickly the costs can add up. On a low range you could spend $600. However, if your tattoo takes longer or is more difficult to remove, you could easily spend $4,500 or more.

Painful?
Though the process can be financially costly, the price doesn’t end with dollars. Laser tattoo removal can also be quite painful. Many tattoo removal customers have gone on record as saying that each laser removal procedure was more painful than it was to get the tattoo in the first place. Multiply that by the three to nine sessions necessary for proper removal and you can imagine why so many people spend months or years deciding whether they can commit to themselves to this process.

After the money is spent and the pain endured, there is no guarantee that your skin will go back to its pre-tattoo condition. Some customers report left over pigmentation and scarring after their laser procedures are done.

Tattoo Removal Creams Cost

This method of tattoo removal is also very effective. It is also safe enough to be approved for home use. It works by breaking down the tattooed skin cells and relying on your body’s natural ability to regenerate new skin cells. Generally these creams work in three steps. The first step will prepare the tattoo for removal. The second step breaks down the ink pigmented skin cells. The third step enhances the fade away action.

Painful?
Tattoo removal creams are to be applied once every other day or so until the tattoo has faded away. The process can take as short as two months or as long as four to six months. The amount of time it takes really depends on the tattoo. Certain colors take longer to fade and a larger tattoo will take longer to remove. As a general rule, these removal creams should be used for tattoos that take up less than 1% of your body. That equates to about the size of your palm. Because the only way to remove a tattoo is to break down the pigmented skin cells, you may experience some slight burning or tingling. You are more likely to experience discomfort if the tattoo is in a sensitive area of your skin.

Cost For Tattoo Removal
As for the financial cost of this method, you may be able to try it risk-free. Check out the manufacturer’s websites for offers. If not, the initial investment is still much less expensive than laser tattoo removal surgery. A one month supply could end up costing you less than $60, depending on the brand you decide to purchase.

Final Word

Now that you are more familiar with the methods, it is easy to see that tattoo removal cost can go far beyond dollars. There is also time spent, and in some cases, physical pain involved. But alas, it is sometimes worth it for the confidence you will gain by ditching a dated tattoo.
