For a minor infestation you can use electro gun or the microwave system. This is good for small areas such as windows. It is another choice for those avoiding chemicals. It heats up the timbers and kills the termites. The average cost is around $1200.

It is advisable to consider having a professional exterminate your termites. However, there are options if you want to eradicate or prevent them yourself. These options are mainly of the chemical type. They are liquids and baits an are mainly sold for minor infestations. If you already have a major infestation you need to call an exterminator unless you want to invest money in professional equipment.
